I went to meet Hokusai♪

There has been the exhibition "Hokusai Ten (北斎展)" until tomorrow.

I didn't have the chance to go to Boston museum in Kanayama, Nagoya.
But I didn't want to miss the exhibition, so I checked the schedule of the museum.

The official site says it closes tomorrow!
But I can't go because I have 2 lessons for STEP TEST tomorrow.

So I decided to go to see it today.
After I finished walking my dog Sakura, and drying the laundry, I left home.

When I arrived at the entrance of the museum, there was a long long line waiting for tickets.
Many people think the same as me わーい(嬉しい顔)

I love Hokusai's Fugoku-36 kei (富嶽三十六景) , or Mt.Fuji series especially among Ukiyoe art pieces.

Many pieces of this exhibition are of Boston Art Museum in the USA.
So I feel happy to see many of them today.黒ハート

These are the photos of postcards that I bought at the museum.

北斎 Great wave.jpg

May be these pieces are very famous all around the world as masterpieces of Ukiyoe.

The above one is ”Fine wind, Clear weather” from the series Thirty-six Vies of Mount Fuji".
It is also called Akafuji (赤富士) because Mt.Fuji in this picture is painted with red.

The lower one is "The Great Wave  off the Coast of Kanagawa"from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.

I love this "Great Wave" in particular.  The wave is so dynamic in this picture.

These Landscape Prints are made through many steps.

1. Engrave a block.
2. Color (Paint a block)
3.Print (Put paper and print the picture of block)

When you know the process of multicolored printing and think this art was born in Edo era, you'll be so surprised.

I hope you are interested in these fine art of Ukiyoe and enjoy them.

Have a nice weekendるんるん
