ANNE, the woman who enjoys mountain climbing!?

Hi, How have you been?
In Japan, we Japanese are in Obon week.

Generally, souls of ancestors are thought to come back to our world from Aug.13〜 Aug 15.
So many of us visit our ancestral tombs. So lots of Japanese companies have Obon holidays during these weeks. And lots of people go abroad, visit summer resorts to enjoy their vacations.

There is a boom in outdoor activities like climbing mountains, trecking, canoeing・・・here in Japan. Especially many women come to enjoy climbing mountains, trecking, rock climbing.
We often hear the word "Yama-girl (young women who enjoy climbing mountains or other activities)".
You can see many outdoor fashion items or outdoor gears for women at outdoor shops.

and so on・・・

Am I a Yama-girl?
No, I'm not. I prefer indoor activities, like watching dramas, reading books, etc.

But two days before yesterday, (Aug.13) I went to a mountain with my family.
My husband wanted to take us to Senjyou-jiki Cirque, Houkendake Mt. etc. in Nagano Pref.

We got up at 5:00 in that morning and left for the mountain.
We have to use Chuo Free Way and reach Suganodai Bus Station.
At Suganodai, we park our vehicles. From there private vehicles are prohibited for protecting nature.
To get on the bus to ropeway station, we waited about 30 minutes.

To our surprise, がく〜(落胆した顔) to get on the ropeway to Senjyoujiki-Station, the highest ropeway station in Japan, waiting time is 2 hours目
That is because of Obon holidaysexclamation×2

While we were waiting, we had a small trecking to Higurashi-no-Taki (Higurashi Water Fall).
It took about 40 minutes to go there one way. So it was good to spend time effectivelyわーい(嬉しい顔)
And the scenery was so amazing.

After getting on the Komagatake ropeway for 7 minutes (very fast目) we arrived at Senjyoujiki Cirque (We pronounce it Senjyoujiki Karlu).

There was a promenade walk through Senjyoujiki-Cirque. for 40-50 minutes to go round.
Senjoujiki Cirque spreads on a slope at a height of over 2,000 meters above sea level, It has a bowl shape that was scraped off by ice from the Ice age.

And "Senjoujiki" was named from the width of a space where 1,000 tatami mats can be placed.
It sounds very Japanese-like sense, doesn't it?

Although my husband, elder son, and younger son climbed up the Houken-dake(宝剣岳 means Treasure Swords-shaped mountain), I didn't climb because I had a stomachache that day.
I spent the time walking, eating snacks, watching the souvenir shops, and reading books.

It rained once while my family members except me climbing, but it stopped soon.
Anyway we all enjoyed the sceneries and short trip.

How about your summer?
